The organization never lets their young talent learn at the big league level. The past 3 years have drafted in the top five and these players can't make the roster for opening night? Why? Is the team too good that there is no room for them? Are you kidding me......half this years team is a bunch of bums. Free agents no one wants, players waived for being unproductive. Two notable draft picks the Isles have passed on the past 2 yrs Sean Couterier and Cam Fowler have played in the Nhl since day one both were passed over by GM Garth Snow for what reason? I still await to hear who the big D-men are? I agree that #reinhart needs another year to develope, however id bet #snows plan is to tout him as the teams answers to its lack of size and toughness on d. i can see the marketing bs now.anthonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00172924981051243844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268433082314467443.post-61632123862695445922012-06-25T00:20:57.474-04:002012-06-25T00:20:57.474-04:00all due respect, isles didnt draft 7 defensmen to ...all due respect, isles didnt draft 7 defensmen to then try to make a big trade with them. Garth snow has never made a "big" trade and never wants to take on salary for more than 1 year and never has traded prospects. Knowing the isles need defensive defense-men, and knowing the unwillingness to overpay FA and the innability to attract FA's without overpaying, He simply plans on using his drafted d=men to fill out his roster. Hoping 1 or 2 or 4 of them can play on the isles. I believe he will try to sign a big D-man (at a resonable contract) or attemt a trade for a big d-man (luke schenn??) but in the end i doubt they are willing to commit to any front loaded & or long term deal to anyone. Just what they do. Hopefully A-mac & T-ham progress or at least play at the same level, Striet is here, that leaves 3 spots plus depth to fill, I unlike some would be glad to trade prospects for (luke schenn eg) but i dont have any hope it will happen. MY Plea to Snow.... please dont insult us with more washed up D-men to simply fill cap space & go -20 and riun another year. Id rather lose with the kids or overpay either money or free agents. Then maybe ill buy tickets again.anthonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00172924981051243844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268433082314467443.post-45103240170675539242012-03-29T02:29:08.587-04:002012-03-29T02:29:08.587-04:00Silver linings suck. We say this movie last season...Silver linings suck. We say this movie last season. Finishing strong only guarantees raised ticket prices, a lower draft pick and being sold that gm snow and coach caps are "improving" and this next year will be our year BS. I really want this team to turn it around and contend next season. I really want to take my kids back to see the isles which I brainwashed them to be fans. Unless they change their spending philosophy (overspend to get players here) especially on defensive defensemen and learn to develope youth better (they have virtually ruined Il Nino) , I don't see any other result than another .500 season regardless of the streaks. Sure the bright spot here is josh Bailey is finnaly playing a complete game and I finnaly have faith he may turn into that 20-20 40pt two way center who doesn't disappear for half a season. Mike grabner is always gonna be a streaky player so I'm not as disappointed in him as others are and trans neilson has find a great job imo. Top line has been brilliant and I don't see why they won't repeat (although I doubt PA will re-sign) Kyle okposo worries me alot? A-MAC AND T-Ham are excellent young d-men and m streit serves his purpose as a scoring d-man. G should be fine as long as they don't try to force BROKEN DIPETRO in the lineup again. But that's it. They need 10 more players. ESPECIALLY tough DEFENSIVE DEFENSEMEN . This team is way too soft. If they must overpay for big defensemen then do it. And they need NHL fowards to round out the fowards. Not washed up over the hill guys like REASONER, ROLSTON, PANDALFO, ETC. over pay for nhl talent and commit to young guys who contribute like ulstrom and Martin. Is it true Nabby signed for next season? This is a good thing but they must commit to him even if he struggles A bit in Oct. Nu more DP bull... Please and if Montoya is the backup, than leave him there. Enough w the bridgeport shuttle. If one of the young and thus far mediocre GOALIES snow drafted is their pick to start or backup, then commit to it. This team has ruined as much young talent as they have been given credit for drafting.anthonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00172924981051243844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268433082314467443.post-8799909523935915292012-02-09T17:42:34.675-05:002012-02-09T17:42:34.675-05:00I admire the move and the player. Have to enjoy those while we can!!

It was a travesty to lose to PHI last night in what was an obviously winnable game. This NYI team is just seemingly snakebitten when it comes to PHI. The goal Simmonds scored was as fluky as it gets. The goalie turned his head to check who was driving the net and it just slipped in there near side from a horrible angle. And, so it goes.

The hits keep on coming for the Isles. Staios on Maxine that is!! Well done. He'll probably get suspended, but it was not the worst I've seen. There have been far worse hits that have essentially gone without substantial punsihment. I saw a replay on MSG that made it look pretty clean and one that was below the chin. Hopefully that angle makes its way up to Shanny. What I saw was a golden globe winning job of acting here, if anything.

It’s not like the shot Flatley laid on Beck back in the day. Effort was there although weaknesses were exposed. Now, the snowball effect has taken effect. Team looks overmatched for periods of time. Effort started becoming questionable, totally became non existent. Goaltending, even on the rediculous carousel was good(just not good enough). Now looks awfully bad. And for all the capuano defending I've encountered, his latest press conference has completely indicated his lack of answers for this year. He said I don't know?
